Catherine aimait Dieu jusqu’à douze ans. À treize ans, elle tomba dans le péché. En revenant de la filerie, elle rencontra un jeune homme qui la reconduisit à la maison.
En entrant dans la maison, elle est tombée de tout son long. – « Katelin, êtes-vous malade ? » – « Oh oui ! Cherchez un prêtre pour m’extrêmiser. »
– « Catherine, confessez vos péchés, vous serez pardonnée. » – « Comment le faire ? Ma bouche est pleine de diables qui me disent que si je me confesse je serai damnée, sinon je serai sauvée. »
