Je suis Matelin an dall, le joyeux sonneur qui fait danser les gens, monté sur sa barrique.
Bretons, je suis vieux, mais s’il plaît à sainte Anne vous entendrez encore le son de ma bombarde. Yannig ar Chapel, à mon côté, sonne dans son biniou. J’ai été à Paris sonner devant le roi. D’autres seraient riches, moi, il ne me reste que ma bombarde. Je sonnerai tant que je serai en vie et le jour de ma mort ne perdrai que ma bombarde et mon chant.
